Biography

Alan May hosts a poetry podcast called The Beat. His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in December, The Hollins Critic, Plume, New Orleans Review, The Hong Kong Review, Interim, Willow Springs, Phoebe, Hotel Amerika, and others. His most recent books are Dead Letters (BlazeVOX, 2008) and More Unknowns (Dead Academics, 2014). He has taught at the University of Alabama, the University of Montevallo, and the University of Tennessee. He was Poetry Editor of the Black Warrior Review, and, for several years, he edited the e-zine Apocryphaltext and The Chapbook, a journal of chapbooks. He works as a librarian in Knoxville, TN.
